Artaaj was commissioned by Abbott to organize the three-day IMID 2012 conference from 1st March to 3rd March at Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City.
Artaaj conceptualized, planned, coordinated and organized, and executed the implementation of the exhibition area which was part of the conference, and the opening sequence for the plenary session, audio visual in main room and breakout sessions and the dinner sessions.
The exhibition area was conceived and presented as a tunnel, with large portraits by the sides. The pre-function area, Al Ras, was embellished with drapes in IMID colours. A virtual mannequin welcomed guests and introduced the conference theme to them. Animated flash presentations, designed and organized by Artaaj, were played on large AV monitors. A hologram of a rotating logo of IMID’s slogan for the conference added to the decor. Guests had their pictures clicked at the themed photo backdrop; these pictures were relayed instantly to the pre-function area monitors.
For the opening sequence a 20-meter LED screen was installed, which used watchout software to project the opening video and presentations by the delegates. The chairman declared the conference open by placing the IMID flag, brought to him by actors running from the back of the ballroom to specially-themed music, on stage.
Customised branding included entrance arch, tunnel arches, flags, reception counters, and internet kiosks.
Artaaj also arranged and directed the entire photography and videography, including the production of a video montage which was played during the gala dinner.
