On 5th October, 2008, Abu Dhabi Awards team accepted the final nominations from the citizens of Abu Dhabi, recognizing people who have made a special contribution to building a greater sense of community and social welfare in Abu Dhabi. At the close of counting, a total of 42,000 nominations were registered for 2008, up by 24% from the previous year.
his is the third year that Artaaj had been commissioned to organize a turn-key solution for the nomination drive, from installing and managing over 100 centers at Adnoc stations, schools, offices, hospitals and ministry buildings across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region. Kiosks were also set up at all major malls in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, where promoters invited consumers to nominate suitable people.
The Abu Dhabi Awards website congratulates the citizens of Abu Dhabi and states, “To all those who took part, your actions have helped recognize & celebrate good deeds in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.”
