Compact Personal Chopper from US to join Big Boys Toys
Soon, you can park your own chopper on your carport. A compact and lightweight mini helicopter, named Dragonfly 1 Tip Jet, is going to line up in the upcoming Big Boys Toys Exhibition, in Abu Dhabi, 16-19 March 2011. Together with innovative unrevealed sport machines, Dragonfly offers distinctive usability for passionate adventurers with unique needs in fulfilling their lifestyle. The 220 lbs petite chopper which is built based on a H202 Tip Jet Propulsion system, can carry payloads of up to 800 lbs.
Going beyond a fun sport flying partner and a handy aerial photography vehicle, the single-user chopper is ready to do heavier tasks, such as search and rescue, medical emergency support as well as survey and control duties.
With low maintenance cost, Dragonfly fits simplicity lovers. The only propulsion maintenance required is to flush the Tip-Jet system with water after approximately every 20 hours of operation. All parts installed have full US FAA traceability and are fully tested, including thermo, load stress, X-ray and NDI-Non Destructive inspection. The entire hardware is made to military specs and within ISO parameters and under an intensive Quality Management System.
Avimech International Aircraft, the developer of the chopper, claims that its Dragonfly offers much higher efficiency compared to normal choppers, consumes only about 11-12 gallons of H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) an hour. It is also the only environmentally-friendly helicopter. The gearbox-less mini chopper possesses high stability and less vibration than conventional helicopters. Regardless of its size, Dragonfly is able to operate in extreme conditions such as strong winds.
